Yosemite - latest paintings

Sorry for going MIA so long. Its been a crazy summer but I have been painting steadily. Keeping up with social media is a big challenge these days. Here are some latest paintings from my trip to Yosmite National park during winter and summer. I can never get enough of Yosemite.

Turquoise vase and cottage roses - Acrylic painting

Another flower painting from my garden. I cut some sweet peas and cottage roses from the garden this week. I wanted to paint the cottage roses before it withered away.

Lone Kayak at Trillium lake - Acrylic

From our road trip to Oregon and Washington last summer. When things get hectic here, all I can ever think of are the beautiful places we have visited and painting them. Reliving my visit to Trillium lake through this painting. 8x 8 canvas with acrylic.

Delphiniums and Foxgloves - Plein air painting

Hello, Sorry I have been MIA from the blog. I have been painting and sharing updates on Facebook page whenever I can, but keeping up with all of my social media is becoming a chore these days :).

Here is a plein air painting done from my backyard couple of weeks ago. Delphiniums and Foxgloves were in full bloom and I couldn't resist painting them. Done on a 12 X 12 canvas with acrylic.

Magnolias - Acrylic Painting

Bitten by the spring bug yet again. Magnolia's are everywhere. Last week when I was returning from a grocery run and spotted them couple of blocks away from home. I knew it wouldn't be long before they carpet the ground. Took some reference pictures which inspired this painting. Done on a 6 X 6 canvas.

Garden Daffies - Acrylic Painting

Daffodils freshly cut from garden. They looked fabulous in the green bottle. I was positioning them in different spots. Accidentally left them on my colorful macbook case and that settled the location :). Done on a 8 X 8 canvas.

Sugar and Spice - Acrylic Painting

Camellias are usually the first flowers to bloom in my spring garden. I cut some some pink and red ones and set them up in vase. It is hard not to paint them or stop at one painting. Done on a 8 X 8 canvas.

Grand Prismatic - An Acrylic Painting

It was a very chaotic January here and working on this painting was the only thing that kept me sane. I found myself picking up the brush every free moment that I got. Relived my visit to Yellowstone and felt I was painting this standing on the steep hill from where I took the photo from. Can't wait to go back.


It was quite a process to transfer that painting that was floating in my head to the canvas. Here is a little WIP video of the painting. Done on a 40 X 30 Canvas with Acrylic.

New showing @ William Arthur Gallery, Carmel Valley

William Arthur Gallery in Carmel Valley Village is the new home for some of my paintings.  Dropped off my paintings yesterday and drove around this quaint little town. Very different and much sunnier than the touristy Carmel-By-the-Sea side. The gallery itself is on village square amidst other galleries and stores. Such fun to walk around. If you are in the area, please do stop by.

Brand spanking New year and the blank canvas is staring at me for a fresh start with infinite possibilities. No resolutions, just going to go with a flow and have fun with both. Have an amazing 2015 everyone !!

I combined two of my favorite things, snow globe and a puppy :). And before you pop the question. Nope, it's not Buddy. The snow globe was a gift to my daughter last year because the dog inside resembled Buddy so much. Here is a collage of Santa Buddy and the snow globe :)

Holiday Show @ Art Ark Gallery

Spent my afternoon at Art Ark gallery getting ready of the holiday show. It was great to see some amazing work from fellow artists. Don't forget, opening reception this coming Friday Nov 7th and closing reception on Dec 5th 6-9 pm. Below is my side of the wall :)

Summer Zinnias

Taking care of some unfinished business this week. Started on these zinnias last summer and promptly misplaced the canvas during our move. Was happy to find it safe and snug inside the canvas box. I dedicated this weekend to finish the painting. Now if I can only find the groove to finish the Venice painting that I started 4 years ago :).

Christmas Carousel

Each year during holiday season, San Jose downtown is transformed into a holiday fantasy with Christmas decorations, carnival rides and glittering lights. Like every resident of Bay area, we are regulars at the event. I have a hard time focusing on one thing there. But the carousel always gets me - happy kids riding the horses without a care, parents waving & clicking their camera or just enjoying their short break from their kids. It's one of those "I wish I was a kid moment" for me. And here is my attempt to bring out my inner-child, the Christmas Carousel..

Helloo.. Yes, I am alive and well. Sorry for going MIA the last couple of months from the blog. Competing priorities in life, but I have been painting steadily. Just couldn't find time to take proper photos and share it here. Wanted to share with you few paintings that I have done to celebrate my little city Milpitas turning 60 years. Golden Hills Art association ( that I am part of) along with Milpitas camera club are displaying their artwork at Milpitas library until October 25th.

Weekly Painting #15 - Pudding Creek Afternoon

We went to Fort Bragg/Mendocino over the Memorial day weekend. I attempted to catch up on some Plein air sketching while the kids were playing at the Pudding creek beach. Saw this mom and toddler wading the water. The afternoon sun was lit up the cliffs & people and I couldn't resist painting the scene. I quickly sketched the composition and started on the painting but couldn't finish it on location. Continued the painting at the hotel and finally took a photo today. Here is the sketch and some scenes from the location.

Weekly Painting #14 - Mackerricher Beach Plein Air

Plein air Gouache sketch from last weekend at Mackerricher beach, Fort Bragg, CA. It was a perfect day to sit on the cliff and work on my sketch. I was contemplating a different location and a different composition. But with a short time in hand, I had to settle for this view closer to the parking lot. It was a relatively quick sketch, completed in about an hour.
